From January through March, and October through December, the meetings will focus on fly tying and fly fishing skills such as knot tying, fly selection, and terminal fly rigs.
April through September, weather permitting, the meetings will focus on fly tying, casting with the fly rod, and presenting the fly. Casting activity will be done outside on the lawn and at the pond.
Note: Fly Tying instruction for beginning and intermediate tyers will be available year-round in the club house.
Activity schedule by month:
Each month will have fly tying instruction and general fly fishing topics. Fly casting and fly presentation will also be presented outside, weather permitting.
January 13th: Woolly Worms and Woolly Buggers, flies no fly box should be without.
February 10th: Classic Nymphs and Wet Flies, the sub-surface trout menu.
March 10th: Classic Bucktails, more meat for hungry trout.
April 14th: Classic Dry Flies, match the hatch.
May 12th: Caddis Flies, the other dry fly
June 9th: Bass Bugs, surface deer-hair flies
July 14th: Terrestrials, insects that drop in for an easy meal.
August 11th: Midges, the little dry flies.
September 8th: Salt Water Flies, get ready for the migration.
October 13th: Steelhead Flies, classic and modern.
November 10th: Tyer’s choice
December 8th: Tyer’s choice.
